What if organization leadership stepped away tomorrow? Does your organization have a succession plan in place?

Leadership transitions can be one of the most disruptive moments in your organization but it can also be one of the rare strategic opportunities your organization can leverage. A proper succession plan can help ensure operational continuity for your planned and unplanned leadership transitions.

This two-day workshop will cover the state of leadership transitions today. We'll explore real examples of how leaders, boards, and organizations have managed succession planning. Gain an outline of succession planning phases, key steps, and sample timelines. The series will also discuss how to manage the expectations and perspectives of internal and external stakeholders. Other topics include: conducting the search for a new hire, considering interim directors, and nuances of long-term leaders or founders.

Join fellow nonprofit organization leaders to reflect on your succession planning interests and goals. Walk away with a checklist of steps and a list of action items to position your organization for success.

Day 1 Guest Speaker: Eric Ibarra, Transitions Consultant, Founder and Former Executive Director of Las Fotos Project

After 10 years founding and leading Las Fotos Project, Eric was able to successfully transition. He is often asked how he did it. Eric will share with us how we worked with his staff, board, and a coach. Perhaps more importantly he'll talk about the emotional and personal work he had to go through. He recalls it was a challenge to even make the decision to leave and there is so much that comes with the process. He is excited to join this training to share and support other leaders in their transition having gone through it. Participants will have a chance to hear from Eric and ask questions about his experience.
