Succession Planning & Transition Success: How To Get It Done Right

Wednesday, April 26; 9am-3pm

What if organization leadership stepped away tomorrow? Does your organization have a succession plan in place?

Leadership transitions can be one of the most disruptive moments in your organization but it can also be one of the rare strategic opportunities your organization can leverage. A proper succession plan can help ensure operational continuity for your planned and unplanned leadership transitions.

This two-day workshop will show you steps and tools for successfully engaging in a leadership transition. Hear different strategies for how leaders, boards, and organizations have approached succession planning and implementation. Gain an outline of succession planning steps and projected timelines. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll have time to reflect and start to build out your organization’s succession plan. We’ll also cover key implementation strategies including communication with internal and external stakeholders. Other important topics will include leader and organizational readiness for succession planning, hiring replacements, considering interim directors, and the nuances of long-term leaders or founders.

Join fellow nonprofit organization leaders to reflect on your succession planning interests and goals. Walk away with a checklist of steps and a list of action items to position your organization for success.
