Breakfast Series: Giving USA 2021

The Annual Report on Philanthropy for the Year 2020

Tuesday, June 29; 9am - 11am

2020 was an unprecedented year with the outbreak of a pandemic, quarantining, social distancing, and social turmoil. How did the health, political and social justice climate of 2020 affect philanthropic giving?

Richard Tollefson, Founder and President of The Phoenix Philanthropy Group, returns to TNP to present on the findings of the Giving USA 2021 Report that will give us a snapshot of philanthropic giving in the year 2020 and help us sift through assumption versus reality.

Now in it's 62nd year, Giving USA is the longest consecutively published, comprehensive report on annual charitable giving in our country. This Breakfast Series presentation will examine giving by source, recipient and sector.

A group of panelists will also join the discussion to share how the pandemic impacted their nonprofits in terms of giving, how they shifted, what worked for them, and what they continue to experience.

Giving USA can help your organization:

• Benchmark fundraising performance against national data;
• Plan for the future, based on long-term trends in giving;
• Educate new staff members and board members in the broad context of philanthropic giving, so that they may have a better understanding of the organization's funding patterns;
• Include up-to-date information about philanthropy overall and by sub-sector in speeches, publications, press releases, and internal communications; and
• Learn about and access recent studies and other resources that can help strengthen your fundraising, grant making, or other philanthropic activity.

Panelists:

Amy Eriksen, Executive Director, Angels Gate Cultural Center

Dora Jacildo, Executive Director, Child Lane

Gaby Hernandez, Executive Director, Long Beach Immigrant Rights Coalition (LBIRC)
